Empty Container Ships Depart San Pedro for Home

As the world markets continue to dump consumer goods onto the North American Markets, G.M., Chrysler head towards bankruptcy and the American Automobile Industry faces severe consequences as a result. As an example, SUV's are defined as trucks are exempt from automobile emission control standards.
Of particular interest, the technology and designs and licencing are exported from US institutions. By the way, Consumer Reports did not list one American car in their top ten list for 2006. The tankers and container ships are departing the harbor empty.

At this time we are in whale hunting season and today a Japanese "research vessel", Nisshin maru, caught on fire and is alleged to be leaking fuel into the Arctic on its seasonal voyage to whale hunt. This is the second fire on board the vessel in this decade. With each passing second the quality of life diminishes on the planet.

The Port is also home to the nation's most secure cruise passenger complex, the World Cruise Center.

Mobil Arctic

On March 24, 1989 at 4 minutes past midnight, the oil tanker Exxon Valdez struck a reef in Alaska's spectacular Prince William Sound. An environmental nightmare began that changed not only Prince William Sound, but the world. No longer would people blindly believe promises from corporations that their operations were safe.

Update: February 1, 2007, San Francisco, Oil giant Exxon Mobil Corp. on Thursday posted the largest annual profit by a U.S. company — $39.5 billion, to $377.64 billion for the year.

Exxon Mobil Corp. is asking a federal appeals court to reconsider its December decision demanding the oil giant pay $2.5 billion to compensate thousands of fishermen and other Alaskans for the 1989 Valdez tanker oil spill. Irving, Texas-based Exxon maintains it should have to pay no more than $25 million because, among other things, it has spent more than $3 billion to settle federal and state lawsuits and to clean the Prince William Sound area.

* note the single hulled tanker is still in use today as opposed to the newer double hulled retrofitted tankers that can prevent future disasters.

THE GREATEST SHIP OF ALL

The Preussen

The authority on tall ships, the late Captain Alan Villiers, predicted we will return to sailing tall Ships and left us a legacy of writings and teachings for future generations. Delta Productions produced his last public lecture performance,
"Great Sea dogs of the Past" that performed at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Los Angeles, 1976
. We are currently in post production with this marvelous presentation for the educational and travel networks.

William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton was there and so was Delta Productions

At 4:30 am, January 17, 1994, residents of the greater Los Angeles area were rudely awakened by the strong shaking of the Northridge earthquake. This was the first earthquake to strike directly under an urban area of the United States since the 1933 Long Beach earthquake.

Ted Sawicki was there with his camera to capture this exciting moment in time, that made front page news.

The Clinton's thanked me with a very kind Christmas card.

Throw your pencils in the well!

The new product showcase at the the MacWorld Conference introduced the
i-phone, a product that turns seamless mobility into reality. Apple has created a true mobile Web device. If you can download a movie for $10 to $12 and play it over your TV, why buy a DVD from a store any more than a compact disc for music? Be on guard, because in February, Apple launches The Apple TV that will sell for $299 USD. With i-pod, the i-phone and now Apple TV, the word computer will be dropped from the tech giant who is now Apple Inc.

Welcome to the Delta Productions Blog!

The world of Blogs is huge and rapidly approaching 55 million blogs at least.
Delta Productions was created by the late Brian J. King, Jr., who loved production with all his heart and soul. My name is Ted Sawicki and I am his mentor. I intend to carry Brian's message by continuing to provide quality production in the Delta Productions tradition.
What exactly is the formula? The Secret? "We use only the finest of ingredients", lenses, cameras, equipment and most importantly people.
This is a people business! Everybody has access to pencils and paper, some scribble notes and others become Rembrandt's. Now that we have access to digital tools, (the pencils and paper), we are here to help you realize your dreams and aspirations.
